*sigh*

Just where did my baby go? 9 months ago we brought you home and you completed our family. Now you're getting to be such a big boy.
Sorry feeling a bit wistful today :)

One from my class

I was so thrilled to get this picture this morning! This one was for an assignment from the photography class that I'm taking. This shot is straight out of the camera, manual focus, manual mode, ss 1/30, f/16.0 iso 100. It looks so much better larger, just click on the photo.

A few more creations...

Before Christmas I had a really great idea to find and scrapbook photos of each of my kids around the same age. Since Owen was 5 months old I found pictures of Ethan and Abby at the same time too. I did the layout and loved it. However I wanted to show off these pictures again. I can't get over how much I've improved with digital! The photos of Abby and Ethan are scanned from printed pictures plus they are cropped in and have been changed to black and white for more continuity. I found these super cute 6x6 canvases locally and knew I wanted to create some wall art with them.
When I scrapbook canvases I tend to be a bit more traditional in my approach because I want them to not look dated too soon.

I loved that grouping these canvases together you can clearly see the similarities in my 3 children and the differences. It's more obvious that Owen is a mix of the older 2 kids.

These canvases are hanging in my kitchen where I can see them all the time. Please note these count for 3 more projects in my challenge ;)

New pictures of Owen

So for those who may or may not know I've started a photography course to better use my great camera. I'm quite impressed with what I've learned so far...I'm shooting in manual mode!! For those who don't know this is picking the shutter speed, aperature and iso amoung other things. I'm pretty pleased with myself and happy about the pictures that I've been able to capture. Good thing I've got a willing subject (he can't run away yet, lol) manual mode, ss 1/90s, f 1.4, iso 200
manual mode, ss 1/180s, F 1.4, iso 200

playing...

My cousins daughter and I were having fun playing with my cricut. We made some cute paperdolls with magnets to play on the fridge. They were so cute! Counting these as 4 more projects towards my 100 projects challenge.

Offically additcted

That's the first step right? Admission. This past Wednesday my old computer bite the dust. I'm talking complete and total meltdown which took the last 2 months of pictures away from me. Ack! Hopefully they'll be saved later but I had to buy a new computer. I didn't realize how much I'd come to depend on my computer and really my link to the rest of the world. My routine in the morning hardly varies with me waking up to fresh brewed coffee (coffee timers rule!), filling up my cup and waltzing over to my computer to check emails, facebook, scrapbooking message boards and online stores (to window shop!) For the last few days I haven't been able to do that and I was almost panicy about it. So I scrapbooked while watching Star Trek.

Happily though I brought home a new computer last night. Shocked me how much computers have changed since I bought my first one 7 years ago. Loving windows Vista though, very cool but I still need to get used to it. Unfortunately I lost my photographs from my second week of lessons so I need to redo them. I'll post pictures later :)

Oh and I'm proud to admit that I have refrained from purchasing any scrapbooking supplies for 6 weeks!! That and I've decided that my mini albums count as 2 projects so I'm up to 35 already. Only 65 left to go. Hmmm maybe I should make a whole load of cards just to up my numbers ;)
